The Basic Cosmetology course covers all the phases of cosmetology, to prepare the student for a career as a Cosmetologist or related field. The approach to training used by the Academy is based on sound educational methods and teaching theoretical knowledge of cosmetology and truly professional personality. This course is taught over a 42.85 week period for day students, and a 54.5 week period for night students.
At the completion of this course, the student will have been presented with the material enabling him-her to be eligible to take the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology exam. Upon passing this exam, the State of Missouri will issue a Class CA, Cosmetology All License enabling the applicant to perform any standard cosmetology service required in a beauty salon in the State of Missouri.

The course offers the student the knowledge and techniques to prepare for a career as a Registered Manicurist. Students will experience theory and practical skills in manicures, pedicures, hand and arm massage, lower leg and foot massage, sanitation, anatomy, nail diseases and disorders, state law, and advanced nail techniques, including four (4) systems of sculpting material (tips, tips with overlays, sculptured nails and fiberglass nails) nail art, paraffin treatments, mending and repairing broken and/or split nails. This course is taught over a 12-week period for day students.
After completing this course, the student will be presented with the material needed to be eligible to take the State Board Exam for Manicuring. Upon passing this exam, the state will issue a Class MO, Manicuring Only license, enabling the student to practice manicuring and pedicuring and the technique of sculptured nails within the state of Missouri.
